ACP Vasant Dhoble's actions (Taliban Style) have recieved mixed response from 'Mumbaikars'. Some support him for shutting down their noisy neighbourhood pubs and clubs while some praise him for ridding their colonies of being a car parking hub....but this 'some' only constitutes a handful of people relative to the outrage that his actions have caused across Mumbai! 

Perhaps his style of working is more to be blamed. His slaps, his abusive approach, his habit of categorizing partying, dancing youth as prostitutes and pimps, casually recommending them to remand home and not to forget his favourite hockey stick with which he has indeed rekindled the much needed love for the sports! Hahaha... All those waiters, owners and people who still have the burning red marks from the stick on their butt should try to understand Mr. Dhoble's love for the national sport! It's probably because he is so busy raiding 'juice centers' that he has begun to practice off field. 

Perhaps, 'Mumbaikars' (supportive & against) and Mr. Dhoble will reach a common solution soon with all the news, pressure, campaigns and outrage building up. Till then let me enlighten you with the new Maharashtra Police tagline - "Hockey ko Dil do" - "nahi toh hospital ka bill do" ! Srry..PJ! :D

This cartoon is with regard to the recently in-news "Dhoble cases" where he has been accused of raiding private parties and pubs unnecessarily and justifying his acts as "MORAL POLICING!" Also 'accused' & hated by 'Mumbaikars' for beating up waiters and club owners with hockey sticks, terming partying girls as prostitutes, arresting partying men under the charges of 'Human-trafficking'...... aaaaand the list never ends!

In a nut shell - this guy has put an end to late night private parties, loud music, drinking, dancing and the youth are so frightened by his acts that the ever so popular night life of the city has come to a halt! After all, who wants to be seen covering his/ her face being pushed into the police jeep on national television and being termed as a prostitute or pimp for doing nothing but dancing or drinking  at a pub after a hard days work! :D

Perhaps he is not liked because this is not the way to go about this problem,......... the root of drugs supplied to rave parties is more of a concern than causing unnecessary media commotion by extensive raiding of bars, pubs and nightclubs, bullying people and shaming youngsters publicly before collecting substantial proof.

The recent news on Rajat Gupta's conviction was heartbreaking! This guy who was orphaned in his teens, graduated from IIT Delhi and after attending Harvard rose on to become the MD of McKinsey for a decade and a director at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Procter & Gamble Co. Today, he became the most prominent executive to be convicted in a five-year U.S. crackdown on insider trading at hedge funds.

Preet Bharara - the famous Indian American Lawyer known for his expertise in white collar corruption cases (also named by the TIMES as 100 most influential people in the world) was the one to put Gupta's American dream to an end. Gupta who is also the the co-founder of the Indian School of Business and has contributed to the society in a number of charitable ways was termed 'unlucky' by the emotional jury members, some of whom wept as he was announced guilty! 


Well whats done is done! The fight put up by Bharara was indeed 'Pretty Karara' and hope others learn from Gupta's act of leaking 'Gupt' info. to outsiders. Though I really feel Mr. Gupta was extremely unlucky................... in terms of getting caught! :)

With all this hearty support from most political parties but Trinamool and Team Anna, will Pranab Mukherjee make it to the 'Golden Gate'?? He has tried on numerous occasions earlier also to reach out for the post of PM and President, but to no avail. Will his hard work pay off this time? Nominating Mukherjee for President has sparked out an unseen, unnoticed war between ambitions and responsibilities.

Mukherjee, who also holds the reins of the Indian Financial Ministry is gladly ready to wash his hands off the responsibility of running the Financial Ministry and bringing it out of the current economic crisis, which is probably the worst that the nation has witnessed post 1991 and we all know who's responsible. Yes! Of course, someone like PC will take over , but is this to be taken so lightly? " Dude, I am moving to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, you handle the crumbling nation, the free fall of the rupee, the falling investments and the GDP and the rising interest rates,...I m sure you'll do great!!...Oh yes!...Don't forget the hungry stomachs - Veges are really costly for them now-a-days!"

Is there no one else in the country who can do justice to the position of the "Rubber Stamp"? Someone with such special skill set as required to be the president of India?? Someone who doesn't hold such critical positions of responsibility? Of course there are....There's Kalam, Sangama, Ansari, Chaterjee and many others. But NO! It has to be Pranab for PREZ!

Probably Pranab is of the view that, no one really cared for the team's loss when Tendulkar scored his 100th ton against Bangladesh, so "let the economy go in dumps, I'll pull their attention towards 'My 100th ton'." How our politicians put their self interest above their country's is well visible through such incidences! As they said in 'Shanghai' - "Jai Bharat!"

Are the men from Mars and the women from Venus living equally on Earth?

Since the beginning of modern age or rather throughout the transition into current times as we may call it, we have witnessed the growth of human rights activists and issues like gender empowerment, female feticide, and dowry have gained limelight. So have we succeeded in eliminating such evils from our civilized society?

Ah! The proud expressions of the woman reading this. She sure thinks so, and why not? After all, she has achieved an elite educational degree and full freedom to her wishes in the society. What more have men got? Definitely a positive beginning to the thought progress on the question, but there's much more to the picture than meets the eye.

Recently, at a parking lot of a mall in New Delhi, I saw a couple fighting. The guy had pinned the girl against a car and was continuously abusing her! I expected he would be slapped the moment he would take his arms off her, but she just cried standing there while he drove away. In another incident, a man was demonstrating his physical power over his partner. He held her by the hair and was scolding her about something. The sad thing was that this woman didn’t seem to struggle or care much even though she was aware of people passing by. I believe she was used to this kind of submission and humiliation. 

How many couples would honestly accept having revived their failing relationship just because the female agreed to enter into a physical relationship with the male? Many, I believe. So what's the point? The point is to bring to light, the nature of dominant male species which has never left any stone unturned to keep their counterparts as submissive as possible.

It is true that there was an era (a long one) when women had no choice but to submit to the wishes of men. They were treated poorly, looked upon as inferior to men, traded as sex slaves, and subjected to much more. As a result of this evolution process, we now have a huge population of females who are full of submissive DNA. We may have succeeded in balancing the gender equity ratio and getting women to colleges and offices, but we have failed in developing ourselves intellectually. Even in the corporate world and educational institutions, male chauvinists share fake smiles and wishes under their hypocrite veils every time a woman beats them for promotion or jobs. The majority of men just fake it to impress people (especially females) at group discussions or social hangouts when they say that they stand for the rights of women - for their upliftment and equality in the society. However, the moment an attractive female passes by, she's greeted with whistles and stares, unpleasant remarks, or irritating greetings. This description obviously does not encompass all of the 4 billion males on this planet but is a fair representation of many.   

The worse part is that these people consider themselves really cool after they crack a dirty joke which made their friends laugh, and they do not realize they just left the poor girl feeling small and objectified. That raises a question here - Would those boys do the same thing again had a girl replied back to them in expression or speech? Maybe not. I remember an incident when my cousin and her friends were touring Jaipur. Somewhere they were suspicious that a group of guys there had been trying to click pictures of them, and instead of just turning away, they went to the group and threatened them to show their phones. They deleted the pictures and had a heated exchange with the men. What would you call the group of girls in this case? Most probably 'Tomboys', but the funny thing is that even when you treat a dominant girl to that title, it still has a 'boy' in it!

Apart from the inherent tendency of the male mind to objectify and dominate women, pornography and fashion media have worsened the stature of females in current times. Pornography had started influencing us long before Hugh Hefner introduced it to the world in the corporate format of Playboy. Today, with porn stars bagging acclamation in the global arena, xxx has seeped into our very sexual identities, convincing obsessive users that the art of lovemaking begins and ends like the way it is shown on the screen. A famous American author says, "In porn, the man makes hate to the woman...the goal is to illustrate how much power he has over her!" 

Therefore over the generations, faced with this kind of outlook towards them, women have developed into a species who have begun to lose their self-dignity and gender integrity! They find themselves in an intense competition to others for attention from males. Fashion industry then comes to their rescue. To beat the girl dressed in shorts, they dress in mini shorts; to beat that further, there are skirts ranging from thigh-length to micro minis. It is also imperative that the dresses and colors are not the same or else the rivalry begins. Here, it is worth noticing the fact that men do not have as much variety in clothing. They mostly compete based on the design and brand that they wear, and if it were two boys at the same place with same clothes, they would happily move around as brothers!

It would not be completely out of place to say that women are losing it on intellect and shifting towards scantily clothing themselves in tiny garbs, bitching out other competent females and friends. Unfortunately, many of these young girls do not realize that this way they’ll end up in their search for a loving partner not achieving anything but insecurities and complexities; ultimately marrying someone arranged by parents or a partner whose love would last as long as their sex drive.

The demise of our intellectuality and innocence is also proven by the fact that we are witnessing a move away from relationships and towards a hook-up culture where sex, rather than an ongoing relationship is the expectation. I think that the increasing ‘pornification’ of our society has been instrumental for the same. Given its lack of commitment and intimate connection, hook-up sex is a lot like porn sex & now it is not just on screen..it’s out there - being played out in the real world and it’s up to all of us if we let it be the way it is, further alienating the two genders or we start to realize our personal lacking and work towards creating an equal society where a woman is deservingly treated as ‘the shakti’ or the power, the source of life.
